Skee-Ball

My first project at Bay Tek Games was modernizing the look of the Skee-Ball games. We added fluorescent colors and several new lighting effects. One of our electrical engineers came up with a way to make flashes of light follow the player’s ball up the ramp. This was a really cool feature, but expensive and hard to implement because of limited space inside the rails. We also wanted to add more lights to the front of the game, but again this added cost.

We ended up utilizing edge lighting to solve space and cost challenges. The etched design in the window is lit by a single strip of LEDs along the top. Similarly, sanded acrylic pieces along the rails are lit by a single LED strips keeping costs down and maximizing space.
